For more than two decades, the Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists has provided a platform for local artists and art lovers to display their works. Through these years, the exhibition has brought us many masterpieces in unique styles, conveying the great effort of their creators.
This year’s exhibition presents a collection of 271 works of art, including 91 western paintings, 81 Chinese paintings and 99 works of Chinese calligraphy, the most exhibits ever. The exhibits have been selected by a judging panel comprised of six experienced artists and art critics from the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, which are Professor Liu Jude of the Department of Painting at the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University; Mr Wang Huangsheng, curator of the Art Museum at the Central Academy of Fine Arts; Mr Yu Zhen, director of research at Xiling Society of Seal Arts; Mr Lin Chin-chung of the Fine Art College of the National Taiwan University of Art; Mr Ou Da Wei, expert in Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal carving from Hong Kong; and Ms Anita Fung, Programme Coordinator of the School of Arts of the Macao Polytechnic Institute. The award-winning works were selected after careful screening and consideration by the panel members.
It is an annual event in Macao SAR, the Collective Exhibition of Macao Artists has also been held in mainland cities and provinces including Beijing, Hebei, Henan and Zhejiang, as well as overseas in Las Vegas in the United States. Aiming to explore more opportunities for local artists to showcase their creations in international art circles, this exhibition also enables local and overseas audience to get to know our Macao artists.
