Optional documents for submission (required to submit if applicable):
1. For ashes from a non-public cemetery, the applicant is required to apply for a Permit for Relocation of Human Remains into Public Cemeteries and submit a legible photocopy of the identity document(s) of the deceased.

Important notes1. Only ashes can be buried as tree burials;
2. After application of tree burial service, the applicant is obliged to bring the ashes of the deceased and the receipt issued upon application to Taipa Sa Kong Municipal Cemetery at least one working day before the day of the burial to facilitate the procedure of sieving of the ashes in advance. The applicant will then conduct the tree burial ceremony at Taipa Sa Kong Municipal Cemetery on the day of the burial. If the applicant applies for cremation of remains simultaneously, the IACM will transport the ashes to Taipa Sa Kong Municipal Cemetery after cremation is completed. Tree burial ceremonies are held between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m on working days.;
3. The tree burial ceremony has to take place on working days, during 09:00-12:00,14:30-16:30. Based on the decision of the applicant, the ceremony of the tree burial can be conducted by the applicant, or by authorized IACM staff or a funeral parlour;
4. The ashes must be contained within a paper bag provided by IACM, and the applicant should comply with the instructions of the on-site IACM staff. The ashes of the deceased cannot be retrieved after the completion of the tree burial ceremony, and the relevant burial location will be recycled for use after the ashes have dissolved;
5. IACM will inscribe the name of the deceased buried as tree burial on a memorial plaque. If the applicant proposes to change the content of the inscription afterwards, an application is required and additional fee will be charged.
6. Should the date and time of the tree burial of the deceased’s ashes be changed after approval due to unforeseen circumstances, the applicant should immediately notify IACM by telephone or fax for rescheduling or processing.
